Drama Workshop : The Magic of Puppetry led by Níamh Lawlor
We’re thrilled to welcome Níamh Lawlor, to lead our next workshop, The Magic of Puppetry. Níamh is a master puppeteer, artist, and storyteller .
Whether you're a performer, teacher, artist, or simply curious, this immersive workshop, offers a hands-on opportunity to explore storytelling through movement, character, and craft.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to be “good at art” to join! Just bring an open mind, a love of storytelling, and a willingness to connect through imagination and play.
About Níamh Lawlor
Níamh is the founder and Artistic Director of Púca Puppets (since 1997), a company known for its innovative and heart-warming productions that blend traditional puppetry with contemporary storytelling.
She holds a Bachelor of Design from NCAD and a Masters in Theatre Direction from the University of Hull. Níamh has worked as a maker, performer, director, and designer for a wide range of companies, including The Abbey, The Ark, Ceol Connected, and Anna Newell Theatre Adventures.
Her work bridges visual art, film, and theatre, and she is passionate about collaborative and participatory art-making. Níamh is also a current member of the artist panels for The Hugh Lane Gallery and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, and formerly of the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA).
Though she’s currently touring her show The Holding Bones, Níamh is generously taking time to work with us and share her love for puppetry on October 11th.
Here are reviews from two recent attendees to our workshops:
'Gabrielle was an absolutely delightful mentor, guiding us with lots of skill and experience through a wealth of improv exercises. Her positive and fun attitude made the whole experience really enjoyable, while her acting talent and experience made the class very informative and filled with brilliant suggestions.
I’d highly recommend this course to anyone ready to come our of their shells and have great fun doing it in a supportive environment!'
